What is meant by the term Licencing?


In various countries and jurisdictions, governments have set up supervisory authorities to monitor and regulate the activities of companies operating within certain business sectors.

The prime task of every supervisory authority is to ensure as far as it can that those institutions which it licenses and regulates are, and remain, financially sound and competently managed so that they offer an efficient and reliable service to
their customers.

A licence will only be granted to an institution that meets the fit and proper criteria to operate and provide, in a transparent and comprehensive manner, all financial and other information about themselves.
