Dharmesh Naik is a graduate of the University of Allahabad in India where he obtained his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science. He joined the Group in 2000 after spending almost 3 years with Siemens. Dharmesh is a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a member of the International Tax Planning Association (ITPA), International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the Institute of Corporate Governance in Mauritius. He is responsible for the Indian Ocean region, Africa, Middle East and India. He is also responsible for the Group's IT implementations as well as Group Marketing.

Mauritius Companies


Mauritius GBCI Companies
Companies holding a Category 1 Global Business Licence are tax resident, subject to 15% income but with an automatic tax credit, making the effective rate 3%. If correctly structured and managed, GBCI Companies may access Mauritius' tax treaty network. Neither capital gains nor withholding taxes are levied. Additionally, Mauritius GBCI companies offer the following advantages:

Simple conversion to other types of Mauritius companies, such as the Mauritius GBCII.
Concessions for the physical establishment and running of a Mauritius GBCI Company.
Complete exemption from import duties and taxes on imported office equipment.
No estate duty or inheritance tax on shares held in a Mauritius Company.
Exemption from stamp duties on all documents relating to international business transactions.
Repatriation of profits free of tax.
A concessionary personal income tax rate for expatriate staff at half the normal tax rates. The highest normal marginal rate is presently 25%.
Complete exemption from import duties on cars and household equipment for two expatriate staff per company.
The company may be active in freeport, banking, insurance, fund management and any other financial services activity involving the handling of client funds.
No capital gains tax.
Re-domiciliation to and from other jurisdictions is permitted.

Mauritius GBCII Companies
The flexibility and confidentiality laws that regulate the Mauritius GBCII Company means that it is ideally suited for holding assets of all descriptions, trading and conducting international business. It is completely exempt from corporation tax in Mauritius and there is no withholding tax on dividends in Mauritius.
